Why do people buying new technology benefit from inflation?

For instance, a guy started to be fanatic about new technology since 1989. Why would inflation benefit him purchasing new technological products?
could it be cause when they buy the new technology, it is inflation proof and they resell it.
or
if it is a factory, new technology would lead to higher products produced. when inflation rises, the factory may be able to produce many goods when prices rise. hence he sells it at high price.
while the technology makes the cost of the product cheaper than before.
other reasons.. it depends on the product and what it does.
