How does new technology infuence our social connectedness?

In other words, with all the new and advance technology popping up regualry… how has it infuenced how and to what extent we stay connected with school, work, family, friends, etc.
this new techy – internet was predicted more than one hundred yrs ago and pple then didnt understand nor expect it to happen. internet came about in the 60s and then it snowballed. telephone, tv, lice broadcast r examples to show how we become connected. we feel the pain and suffering of those who suffer katrina’s wrath, the tsunami, earthquakes etc. we feel, we react by giving donations/help.
we make things happen – we move the world into one global family and these new tech is the tool tt we use to achieve this
Seems like its connecting: like i can talk to my family that thousands miles away very cheap or free through emails and messengers, even use a web cam sometimes, on the other hand, my boyfriend stays next to computer all the time even when he came back home the same as me, chatting and developing my new website, so we don’t really spend as much time together as in front of monitors.. so go figure….
